Each panel perimeter is reinforced with Douglas® 3-ply extra-strong hems. These durable, lock stitched sewn hems are seemed with solid vinyl inserts that are double sewn to 1-1/2 inches wide. Hems are a durable bond that will not tear, unravel, or come apart in even the harshest weather conditions. Other methods for perimeter reinforcement include chainstitching which can unravel, or heat sealing, which bonds the material together instead of sewing. Heat-sealing can come unbonded over time creating an unfinished border for your material.
No detail of fabrication is overlooked, even the thread quality matters because it holds everything together. We use thick, UV protected polyester thread to ensure that our seems last. #2 brass grommets are placed every 12 inches on the sides and 18 inches on the top and bottom of the fence screen panels. Having a screen that is evenly secured tightly to a fence minimizes maintenance and increases longevity.
